INT. SCHOOL OFFICE - FRIDAY

Aliya is standing in a line of students who are listening to

Ma'am Salima announce the winner.

MA'AM SALIMA

While everyone had an impressive

portfolio, the directors found only

one candidate worthy of this

internship.

Shot focuses on MC's hand, that is covered in dry paint and

balled into a fist. Next to it is a clean, straight hand.

MA'AM SALIMA

(enthusiastic) Congratulations,

Maryam Muhammad!

Maryam smiles and is relieved, going to get her acceptance

letter. The other candidates are clapping and smiling.

Contrast showing between Aliya and Maryam through

appearance, Maryam in pink or white jacket, perfect hair

with no tangles, clear and soft face. Switch to Aliya in

messy hair, black jacket, dark eye makeup, sharp and

serious.

Maryum and Ma'am Salima take a picture, smiling.

Medium close up of Aliya crying, camera shutter sound,

then--

INT. MC HOUSE - FRIDAY

Medium close up of MC in her room, crying. Scene then

focuses on room cluttered in mess. Her phone pings with a

text message:

Mom: Don't be disheartened. We couldn't afford the travel

anyways.

Aliya scoffs through her tears. She gets another ping.

Mom: Your father wouldve been proud.

Aliya shakes her head and sniffs through more tears, closing

her phone and putting it down. Close up shot, heartbeat

sound rhythm to flashbacks of her painting, voices of her

saying, I can do it, flashback to Maryam getting her

internship, close ups of her painting.

Extreme close up shot of mouth-- deep breath.

She now looks angry, and vengeful.

Montage of rock music, tearing up her artwork in handheld

movements, squeezing out paints, crying, destroying

everything she has, until finally, when all music stops,

She opens her drawer, which reveals a gun. She looks at it

with an undecipherable expression. Screen turns black, and

sound of cocking the gun is heard.
